If I arrive at 5am to Mor Chit, can I make a 7:00am flight (check in closes 45 mins before flight)? How long does it take in a taxi from Mor Chit bus station to Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok?
It should take no longer then 30 to 40 minutes at that time. How long does it take in a taxi from Mor Chit bus station to Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok?
If your on an international flight you will be hard pressed to make it. I travel into Mo Chit from Issan all the time. Getting out of the bus terminal will be a daunting task in itself.
After getting off the Bus (which hopefully arrives at 5 am) picking up you bag and heading to the Taxi stand with 5,000 other people it might take 10-15 minutes if your lucky. Then taking the taxi to the airport (45km) is another I would say 1 hour. Then you have to get to the gate another 5-10 minutes.
My suggestion would be to stay one day in Bangkok. If that is not an option, I would offer the bus driver a little tea money to get in a little early (50 baht or so Give him the money after you get in early). There's a lot of traffic north of Bangkok and the buses usually make one stop at a mall. You can get off there and hotfoot it in by taxi from there which will save you trying to get out of the Bus station but the taxi may want extra for the return. If that's not an option as soon as you get off the bus they'll be some solid Thai citizens offering Taxis. They charge you more (100-150 baht) but you'll get a taxi right away and they'll lead you right to the taxi (offer the taxi driver a little extra say the phrase Leau Leau and hold on to your hat). Also tell the motorway, I think the toll is 80 baht.
If you have to head to the taxi stand it will be crowded and you really have to know where your going because Mo Chit is huge and packed at that time in the morning. Choc Dee.
You might be able to talk to the Bus company and make arrangements for a taxi to be waiting along the bus route before you get to Mo Chit but I've never tried that.
You MIGHT be able to make it! All things working right you MIGHT be able to make your flight! But there is a possibility that you can miss your flight because of traffic tie-ups when you are on the bus or in a taxi. Under 45 minutes should be doable most of the time.
Is there a second flight you can switch to if you are late, any penalties? Why not spend the night before in Bangkok and have plenty of time to get to the airport??
I am an American living in Thailand,so I know this place very well.Depending on traffic it should just take a little bit.Maybe 20 to 30 minutes but if you have bad evening traffic or bad morning traffic it could take up to 3 hours, maybe more.I've experienced this problem many times. That is why I moved up north.Yes,it's true traffic can get that bad in Bangkok. So,depending on your departure time you need to pre plan when you leave to go to the airport.
Hope this helps!Bangkok can be crazy.
you should be o.k. as someone else says 30 to 40 mins is about right but are you sure you will arrive in bus station on time thai buses can be late and no one will care too much if you are late for your plane...good luck
You should be able to make it as there won't be much traffic at 5:00 AM, I agree with the previous answer, 30-40 minutes from Mo Chit to Suvarnabhumi.
Yes you can, just tell the taxi driver to take the highway,it faster but there will be toll charges,it's less than 80 bhat
If you go with the motorway from Morchit, it will take about 2-3 hours on a normal day. You should avoid rush hour at about 5pm to 9pm in order to attain this travel time.
I agree with Negashia.. You will be pushing your luck to the limit. I would get there the day befor to be on the safe side.
