If your only 17 and have low energy levels in conjunction with a high sugar diet, you should really get yourself to a doctor. The obvious answers are: get some exercise and cut down on refined sugars, and stay away from energy drinks - they'll only let you down, but above all get a check-up to rule out anything nasty like diabetes. Your doctor can also advise you on a good diet. Make sure you ask for the information you want - most doctors will be really helpful if you show an interest in understanding the problem and ask questions.
If you're eating a lot of sugar foods then all you are getting is short bursts of energy. you need stuff with high carbohydrates. like pastas. didn't you learn any of this in your health class in school?
pastas are really good about breaking down into little sugars and last a really long time... you should have lots of energy for hours... fruit and vegetables will help you stay healthy... the sugary drinks and diets both are really bad for you so don't try to cancel out the sugary for the diet milk, oj, and water are pretty good...
ask the doctor
That sugar is what makes one tired.. especially if it's white sugar. Dr. Mark Fromberg says to avoid sugary things and also salty foods. Use herbs and stevia with your foods. To get more energy cut down your meat intake and eat iron rich foods such as Spinach, Broccoli, Kale, and Beets! Also the herb Ginseng will help too! If you need sweets then a Banana or Raisins are better thing than say a donut! Also U might need pastas too they are high in carbohydrates.. a good balanced diet is the key.. you might benefit by seeing a diation ( I know I spell that last word wrong the one word that always gives me trouble!)!
eat less sugary things. then eat healthier things like fruits and vegetables, protien, and you will get more energy and feel better. Pasta is also good but not too much unless you are going to be burning the extra calories off. after a couple of days you will feel better and have more energy
Hello There!

Try to eat less things with refined sugar. Try fresh fruit or even a plate of cut up vegetables with a dip instead. Brocholi, tomatoes, califlower, carrots, etc. are all great with a nice dip for snacks.

Please, stay away from soda, and don't be sneaking any alcohol. Get yourself a check up with your Doctor and have him check your blood sugar levels, triglycerides and cholesterol.

And the most important thing. .to get your energy back up to snuff. . EXERCISE! I have a 19 year old son who started doing nothing when living away at college. Now he is living home again, and was in the same exact situation that I think you are in. He has started working out almost everyday, and his eating habits are improving, and so is his energy level. Sometimes you have to get active to boost your metabolism to get back into the swing of things and get yourself motivated to eat better things.

A good source of vitamins and minerals is a baked potato. You would be surprised at how filling a baked potato can be, and it provides you with many minerals that help you build bones and stay strong.

Remember, sweets are treats and shouldn't be a big part of your diet. You are young and have your whole life ahead of you, the better nutrition that you have now, the healthier you will be for the rest of your life!

So, stop the soda's and packaged snacks as much as you can.

Go to the doctor for a check up, blood work and nutritional guidance.. .

And most important. . .EXERCISE! Get busy, keep moving. . . and everyday your energy will increase.

I wish you the best.

So, Please. . . Stop with the soda and the prepared snacks, see the doctor and EXERCISE!
I feel ya, Muck.

I had a half of a donut today and was so TIRED.

Replace your sugary things with a fruit smoothie.
Sugar will keep you ';hyper'; not active. Plus it's only for a while. Eat fruits, and (disgusting) vegetables and get at least 30 min of outside time, running or playing, not including school. And for every cup of soda you drink, drink a cup of water, that way you are balanced.
for breakfast try 1 egg 1 bacon with orange juice, to make it healthy drink 1/2 c grapefruit juice. for lunch lots of green (no iceberg lettuce)try spring mix with any kind of meat and dressing. drink of plenty of water. you can still have your sweets as snacks. good luck.
I think you should see a dietitian. I lived like you when I was younger and now I wish I had received help before my body started to break down.

Please see a dietitian. Your doctor can refer you to a good one. And most of all, do what he/she says. I don't want you to end up like me. Learn from my experience.
Best to c ur Doctor. In the meantime drink ';Lucozade'; or use ';Glucodin'; powder instead of Sugar and eat Bananas (2 03 a day is fine).Electrolyte replacement drinks are good until you c ur Doc..If you are feeling weak as well ask your Doctor to have your blood tested for Potassium and the other Electrolytes.
you should have the doctor check your sugar level, that is really important, try salads or fresh veggies with a lowfat dip, drink plenty of water.and excecise, even if its dancing or walking or whatever,,good luck.
