ao say i got a 2mb song right, when i convert it to apple lossless it becomes like 11 mb! where did these other 9mb of memory came from? Why is that when i convert MP3 to Apple Lossless the Lossless has mor memory used even though its copy is less?
Lossless audio is the highest possible audio quality. Usually people can't tell a difference between .mp3, and a lossless audio format, but lossless has a constant bitrate where the highest quality .mp3 has a bitrate of 320 kbps. Even if you can't hear a difference. The difference is there.
CBR (constant bitrate) = more HDD space used.
