Can anyone tell me whether they have seen or know the name of this beautiful creature, looks like a lizard mor

found in very clear mountain stream of Shen Zhen China. About 1.5 inches long. Must have suckers on legs because it can climb vertically on glass. Color black with yellow band. Not active, suspect it eats algae growing on the rocks. Probably breathe like fish because it stays underwater and do not come to surface to breathe. Body very soft. Because all were about same sized, assume that's the adult size.Can anyone tell me whether they have seen or know the name of this beautiful creature, looks like a lizard mor
A little hard to work out from your description, but it could be a type of gecko.


They can climb vertically on glass (they have ridges not suckers on their feet though). Sounds about the right size and some varieties are very brightly coloured.


As there are so many different varieties of Gecko it is a little hard to tell you any more specific info relating to the creature you describe. I have saved a salamander from death that looks like that ...i found it in a plastic covered hole in the ground where the water pipes were at....it was kinda wet in there because its by a huge pond....and yes that pond has lots of algae in it but I found it in Everett Washington, U.S.A.
