You must've uninstalled the sound drivers by mistake. You can check it by right-clicking the my computer icon on the desktop and choose properties %26gt; hardware %26gt; device manager. Under the sound, video and game controllers you should see the name of the drivers [depends on the type of motherboard, most common is realtek / ac'97]. This means the drivers are alright and there is some other problem.





Instead if you see a yellow circle with an exclamation mark indicating the name of the drivers above this in 'other' devices section you can right click that and choose update driver.





The driver can be obtained from a CD which should have come with your computer [if branded] or from the assembler. If none of the CDs are available then you'll have to search on the internet for the drivers using the model and make of the motherboard. The drivers are usually available for a long time even after the product is discontinued and should be a smallish download.

if you have the driver CD of your device you must run the setup.exe or install.exe from that.if that CD is an autorun CD setup will run automatically and the installation wizard Leeds you to finish that.

what windows system do you use is it windows xp ? what is the make of your computer? need more info ,please
Typically you just need to reinstall the drivers for your sound card.
You mean the Audio drivers.
To install the sound driver in ur PC follow the below procedure


U just insert Ur mother board CD.


In that CD the audio driver file will be there


U select that file and install it then U R able to use sound device.


first U get clear that U have deleted the sound driver not the device.
Just go to the website for the maker of your sound card, download and re-install drivers.





If you are using on-board sound (sound built-in to motherboard) goto the maker of your your motherboards website, enter model # and download audio drivers and install.
