my question is, if it is 14hp can anyone under 16 legally operate it? also do u need boating licence for jet skis? tyAcording to this website u have to be 16 at least to operate a pwc of 15 or mor hp?
That link explains it all. You won't find a pwc with that low hp so don't worry about it.





Who May Operate a Vessel


California law requires a person to be 16 years of age or older to legally operate a vessel powered by a motor of 15 horsepower or more, including personal watercraft (PWCs).





Exceptions to this law are:





Persons 12 to 15 years of age may operate a vessel powered by a motor of 15 horsepower or more, including personal watercraft, if they are supervised on board by a person at least 18 years of age.


There is no age restriction for operating a sailboat under 30 ft. long (with wind as the main source of propulsion) or a dinghy used between a moored vessel and shore or between two moored vessels.Acording to this website u have to be 16 at least to operate a pwc of 15 or mor hp?
you do need a boating license for a jet ski and you have to be 14, but for the boat yes if you have your boating license you can be any age to operate it [this is for florida]
what i the difference between 14 and 15 hp? the police dont split hairs. yes, im sure you need a boating license for jet skis. actually i believe you need a drivers license to get a boating license.
