Fraud? buyer offering cashier's check for mor ethan the amount of purchase?

I am selling on Yahoo Classifieds and I have three potential buyers. But, all three are asking that I accept a cashiers check for more than the purchase amount and transfer the balance via western union to the shipping company they have chosen to use. Has anyone else encountered this? Is this definitely a scam?Fraud? buyer offering cashier's check for mor ethan the amount of purchase?
Definitely a scam. Report it to Yahoo classifieds and the Federal Trade Commission at the below website. Please do report, so many people get scammed with this and lose a lot of money because that first ';cashiers check'; is always no good. I work in a bank and I have seen this ';scam'; numerous times. Do not accept these checks.
This is a scam artist or ring of scam artists. Don't send any money because anything you send will be lost!
This is definitely a scam. The cashier's check will turn out to be worthless and you will have lost the money you give the ';shipping company.';
Its fake. The cashiers check will clear at the bank, but when the bank realizes its fake, they will come after you for the money.
